IN a bid to support the region’s struggling arts and events industries, the City of Ballarat has sought to reimagine a way to best showcase the local creative community.<\/p>\n

Under the banner Be_Hear\/Now, a music program is set to run over three consecutive Friday nights in November at three mystery locations.<\/p>\n

All the performances will be live streamed from inside undisclosed factories, quirky motels and bowling alleys with the aim of highlighting the talent and history Ballarat has on offer.<\/p>\n

Celebrated performers such as Freya Hollick, the Dead Salesmen, the heritage-steeped Ballarat Brass Band and the Sundanese dance mob Mal\u00eb K\u00ebl Loc K\u00ebl are among the line up.<\/p>\n

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, audience participation will be limited at the locations but will be available for livestream.<\/p>\n

The City has also partnered with Plug in Human to bring [I miss your touch], an online immersive art experience which will provide an opportunity for two people to attend each event.<\/p>\n

The experience will link up two people in separate locations and offer them the chance to dance and interact.<\/p>\n

Community members are encouraged to book a spot online before the events in the hopes of securing one of the few spots at the performances.<\/p>\n
