FEDERATION University has found itself within the top one-hundred tertiary education institutions in the 2020 global ranking of sport science schools and departments.<\/p>\n
Assessed by the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the ranking system considered each institution\u2019s research papers that were indexed on the Web of Science academic website, total citations, papers published in journals and percentage of internationally collaborated papers.<\/p>\n
FedUni vice-chancellor and president, Professor Duncan Bentley said it\u2019s great to see the university reach the top 100 and improve on its top 150 ranking in 2018.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe look forward to continual growth in this area with the commencement of our bachelor of physiotherapy and bachelor of international sport management in 2021,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re investing in new partnerships in sports science, so it\u2019s great to see our research in these areas being recognised as among the best in the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur challenge now is to export not only our research and our programs but also the value of regional universities to Australia\u2019s reputation for innovation and creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Utilising the University\u2019s state of the art facilities such as the $16.5 million sports precinct, FedUni runs a variety of sports-related courses including sport science, clinical exercise physiology, strength and conditioning and sport management.<\/p>\n
As of next year, the sports curriculum is also set to include international sport management as part of a new bachelor\u2019s degree in partnership with the World Academy of Sport.<\/p>\n
Performing especially well in the citations per paper and international collaboration categories, Federation University was commended for its support of students in producing widely recognised studies and working with international communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
