AIMING to re-activate the hospitality industry, the City of Ballarat has devised two new opportunities for businesses to create additional seating and increase comfortability.<\/p>\n

Funded by the Victorian Government’s under the Local Council Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package, venues are welcome to apply for one, or both, of the programs to assist their recovery.<\/p>\n

Drive Caf\u00e9 owner Sam Fraser said after the tough year the hospitality industry has been through, it\u2019s nice to know there\u2019s support out there.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving to close earlier this year was devastating for us, our staff and community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Two grant programs are seeking to add extra space for people to enjoy a summer drink.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to be back and we\u2019re really grateful for our loyal customers who stuck by us throughout the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll definitely be considering any City led packages or programs to help us on the road to recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first initiative is the proposal of outdoor seating hubs that seek to create temporary dining spaces coordinated by a group of hospitality businesses.<\/p>\n

Venues are encouraged to team up with other businesses to be creative in extending their dining areas into private or public areas such as car parks and roads.<\/p>\n

For the second program, cafes, bars and restaurants are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to have small infrastructure including umbrella sockets or clear wind barriers installed.<\/p>\n

The additions are aiming to help with comfortable outdoor dining experiences for local and visiting customers.<\/p>\n

With submissions closing on 8 December, apply for either program at forms.ballarat.vic.gov.au<\/strong><\/a> before that date to be considered.<\/p>\n
