{"id":73898,"date":"2021-01-14T04:54:28","date_gmt":"2021-01-13T17:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=73898"},"modified":"2021-01-14T08:45:21","modified_gmt":"2021-01-13T21:45:21","slug":"legacy-camp-brings-joy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/news\/legacy-camp-brings-joy\/","title":{"rendered":"Legacy camp brings joy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WHILE numbers may have been down due to COVID travel restrictions, about 25 members of the Ballarat Legacy community were still able to enjoy the organisation\u2019s annual camp last weekend.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73900\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73900\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-73900\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/01\/IMG_1154-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73900\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ballaarat Yacht Club member Alex Hughes takes camp participant Ned for a spin on the lake.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Taking place over four days from Friday, participants visited venues and attractions and took part in activities in the city and across the wider region including visits to Creswick Log Cabins, Werribee Zoo, sailing on Lake Wendouree and a movie night at Delacombe Town Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Legacy Ballarat spokesperson Jeremy Banister said the event couldn\u2019t take place without the support of many local volunteers, organisations and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s extraordinary,\u201d he said. \u201cWe get very generous donations from any business we approach and they are more than happy to extend a hand because they realise the importance of what Legacy does for families in need.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite COVID we\u2019ve been able to provide a full range of activities for our Ballarat families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur numbers are increasing but we\u2019re able to look after them thanks to the enthusiasm of the Ballarat Legatees and the Ballarat public.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHILE numbers may have been down due to COVID travel restrictions, about 25 members of the Ballarat Legacy community were still able to enjoy the organisation\u2019s annual camp last weekend.
