THOSE impacted by limb loss across Victoria are invited by the peak body for amputees in Australia, Limbs 4 Life, to a series of in person informational and supportive gatherings.<\/p>\n

Set to kick off around the state in February, the sessions aim to connect various members of the amputee community to ensure no amputee goes on their limb loss journey alone.<\/p>\n

In return, CEO of Limbs 4 Life Melissa Noonan said they hope to hear from amputees about their experience with the aim of improving services and discovering gaps in their information.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal for these information sessions is to bring together members of our community, their partners and carers, and provide a platform for learning and sharing information,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the next two years we look forward to delivering these events around regional Victoria.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each session will be hosted by Ms Noonan alongside Limbs 4 Life\u2019s project manager Mike Rollsto and a variety of Victorian support groups for amputees such as the Ballarat Amputee Group.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to meet amputees throughout Victoria at The Amputee Empowerment Project information sessions,\u201d Mr Rolls said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur aim for the project is to establish a safe, supportive and empowering network of local support groups around the state, where amputees can connect, share and learn from one another.\u201d<\/p>\n

To be held at a variety of locations around Victoria, Limbs 4 Life plan to visit amputee groups in not only Ballarat but also Geelong, Bendigo, Sale, Echuca, Shepparton and Wodonga.<\/p>\n
