THE Selkirk Ballarat Rush have further cemented their 2021 NBL1 South season line up with the confirmation that Millie Cracknell will be dressing for the big club.<\/p>\n
A 168-centimetre point guard, she ran on a few times with the senior Rush in 2019, netting 12 points with a 50 per cent shooting average, however Cracknell also spent time with the youth team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am so excited to be in my hometown and play for the Selkirk Ballarat Rush in the NBL1 this year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter such an uncertain year in 2020 it is a privilege to be a part of the team, and I can\u2019t wait for the season ahead with Eric Hayes and Megan Collins.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite there being very little competitive basketball last season, Cracknell still has an eye on going further in the sport.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously after being unable to play any basketball last year, I would like to work on my fitness and overall game,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn these uncertain times I just want to get back to playing the best basketball I can and then assess the options for College opportunities from there.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Rush head coach Eric Hayes, Cracknell\u2019s progress through the Basketball Ballarat System reflected her development and commitment as a player.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is great to have Millie in the program after she finished her strong performance in the junior program and youth league,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
