{"id":75002,"date":"2021-03-11T04:54:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-10T17:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=75002"},"modified":"2021-03-11T00:00:31","modified_gmt":"2021-03-10T13:00:31","slug":"beck-cormick-you-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/news\/beck-cormick-you-i\/","title":{"rendered":"Beck and Cormick weave musical magic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THIS Tuesday it\u2019s just <em>You &amp; I<\/em> on stage, as musical theatre greats, Rachael Beck and Michael Cormick perform at Her Majesty\u2019s Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Friends for 25 years, meeting during <em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em> rehearsals, the performers will share a night of storytelling, song, dancing, acting, fun and laughter, and emotion, while taking you to the unique worlds of some famous and magical musicals.<\/p>\n<p>They will cover the antics of backstage, including a few tales about other creatives they\u2019ve worked with; actors, composers, and directors that might be familiar to the audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMichael and I cannot wait to bring you our new show, <em>You &amp; I<\/em>,\u201d Beck said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s full of industry gossip, hits from shows such as <em>Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, Grease<\/em>&#8230; to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so good to be back on stage. I know you\u2019ll love this show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beck is recognisable for work both on television and the stage, having performed in <em>Barnum, Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Mis\u00e9rables, Cabaret, Singing in the Rain<\/em>, <em>Cats, Home and Away, City Homicide, Sea Patrol<\/em> and reality singing show<em>, It Takes Two<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Cormick\u2019s career spans Australia, Europe and the UK, having performed for the Queen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Chess, Woman in White, Sunset Boulevard, Jesus Christ Superstar, <\/em>and<em> Carols by Candelight <\/em>are on his resume.<\/p>\n<p><em>You &amp; I<\/em> is this Tuesday, 16 March, from 7.30pm.
