AS part of Haymes Paint\u2019s Helping Hand campaign, three Ballarat community organisations have been announced as finalists for the top prize.<\/p>\n

Although the finalists; Bakery Hill Kindergarten, Ballarat City Rowing Club and Pleasant Street Primary School will each win a supply of paint to freshen up the premise, they are all in the running to with the major prize of tradesman to help them get the job done as well.<\/p>\n

As a finalist for the program, Pleasant Street Primary School principal Mark McLay said it would be great to win the major prize as the school doesn\u2019t receive much additional funding, especially for building works.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe tend to usually put funds towards teaching and learning resources so sometimes our external stuff suffers a bit so to get a helping hand to spruce up the place a bit will be awesome,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe supply of paint will hopefully cover this main entrance admin section of the school, fix it up a little bit and will pay for the paint and if we won the main prize, it would help us do up more of the school especially some of the tired areas that really need it.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce you\u2019ve got a neat, tidy, exciting, bright and colourful place, it will lift the spirits of all the teachers and the students and teach them to look after school equipment better.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ballarat winner will be decided by public vote, which will be open on Haymes\u2019 website until 11 April for the major prize winner will be announced 14 April.<\/p>\n
