If you love cycling, fashion or just how beautiful the Ballarat streets are in autumn, the iconic Tweed Ride and Tweed Fashions on the Field are not to be missed on 8 May.<\/p>\n
The event sends cyclists dressed in vintage and heritage-inspired outfits of tweeds, velvets, capes and kilts, down Ballarat\u2019s most picturesque streets.<\/p>\n
Departing from Pipers Ballarat at 10am, Tweed Ride host Liana Skewes will take riders around Lake Wendouree, down Sturt Street to the Town Hall for a group photo, and then to the finish at the Ballarat Mining Exchange.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ballarat Tweed Ride is my favourite way to see the city I am so proud to call home,\u201d said Ms Skewes.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a casual event of fashion, cycling and fun, and is open to those aged twelve and above. All bikes are welcome to join us on the 12-kilometre journey that explores some of Ballarat\u2019s most historical locations.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cyclists are also invited to attend the Tweed Fashions on the Field event after the ride, which will include a tweed fashion parade with categories including most elegant rider, most dapper rider, most elegant spectator, most dapper spectator, tweediest tot, most magnificent millinery, group of distinction and most stylish steed.<\/p>\n
