RESIDENTS could have closer communication with Golden Plains Shire, thanks to a new e-newsletter.<\/p>\n

Engage <\/em>will be available monthly and provide the community with all the information on the municipality\u2019s current consultations and ongoing projects.<\/p>\n

The first edition, which came out earlier this year, was focused on getting members of the public to have their say on the Draft Council Plan 2021-25, the draft budget 2021-22, Three Trails Project and the review of mayoral and councillor allowances.<\/p>\n

Mayo Cr Helena Kirby said she encourages residents to sign up for the newsletter.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur councillor group is committed to engaging directly with our communities and Engage<\/em> is an exciting way for residents to stay up-to-date with all opportunities for them to have their say and speak with us directly,\u201d she said<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so important for residents to have their say on the things that impact them and to know what happens to their feedback once a consultation closes.<\/p>\n

\u201cEngage<\/em> is that one stop shop, where they can see all the current consultations and engagements and receive updates on previous ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cr Kirby said it\u2019s a great way to closer connect councillors to their Golden Plains Shire community, and current initiatives have proven successful.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a councillor group, we hope Engage<\/em> will encourage more residents to have their say and make the most of opportunities to speak with councillors directly,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve already had great discussions with community members at the recent Coffee with your Councillor days and councillor conversation posts, and we\u2019re looking forward to meeting with community groups later in the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
