COMMUNITY members have 15 more days to nominate local young people for a 2021 Ballarat Youth Award.<\/p>\n
Volunteer members of new City youth leadership TEAM, Together Enhancing the Achievements of Many, are coordinating the Youth Awards process and upcoming ceremony, which will celebrate exceptional 12 to 25 year olds and the value they bring to Ballarat throughout leadership, innovation, kindness, and commitment.<\/p>\n
Former Ballarat Youth Awards nominee and TEAM member Millie Collins said she\u2019s excited to recognise fellow young people, share their inspiring stories, and boost their initiatives.<\/p>\n
\u201cYouth in Ballarat today are doing great things and deserve to be acknowledged.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a past nominee, it was uplifting to be publicly celebrated through the Awards. Having the chance to encourage other young people to strive to make a difference is a real honour,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Daniel Moloney emphasised \u201cyoung people really are our future.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can make sure we are supporting them to make a brighter future for our city by recognising the great work they are doing today,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNominating someone for the Ballarat Youth Awards is a great opportunity to show the young people in your life that their hard work is being seen and is greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you know a young person in Ballarat who is making a difference to our community and our city, make sure you nominate them for an award.\u201d<\/p>\n
Award categories include challenge and change, youth volunteer, influential artist, compassion and care, young entrepreneur, science technology engineering and maths, positive leader, group project, leadership in sport, and adult ally volunteer and worker.<\/p>\n
The Youth Awards will be presented at a ceremony in mid-August at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts. All nominees can attend the ceremony, and will be celebrated, whether they win a category or not.<\/p>\n
