RECRUITMENT is open for people looking for work in fire management.<\/p>\n
Forest Fire Management Victoria is taking applications for project firefighters and forest and fire operations officers in the Grampians region.<\/p>\n
Grampians\u2019 Deputy-Chief Fire Officer Tony English said working with FFMVic is a \u201cfantastic opportunity for anyone who is physically fit and ready for plenty of outdoor work.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou could be operating heavy machinery one week and responding to an emergency the next,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Project firefighters include general firefighters, support officer and repel crews while operations officers includer supervisors, plant operations and field team leads.<\/p>\n
The fixed term positions are available across the Grampians regions, in towns such as Daylesford, Sebastopol, Edenhope and Bacchus Marsh.<\/p>\n
FFMVic said all positions \u201cmaintain the public land our wonderful Grampians region has on offer\u201d with work including managing roadside vegetation, pest and weed control, planned burning, emergency response and suppression of bushfires.<\/p>\n
