AS of last week the second stage works on Selkirk Stadium, the Ballarat Sports and Events Centre complex are complete.<\/p>\n
Funded by the State Government, the $5.2 development on the Norman Street side of Basketball Ballarat\u2019s home facility has three 3×3 basketball courts outside, centres for strength and conditioning, and learning, and a mobile 3×3 court for away events.<\/p>\n
Basketball Ballarat chair Kim Holloway said 2022 is an exciting time for the association, and the city\u2019s broader sporting community, as the bright blue site positions itself as the regional home of the 3×3 game.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have so many more great facilities; upgraded courts, 3×3 courts that provide around-the-clock access to basketball, while the learning and function spaces are opportunities for community and corporate groups to come together,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
City of Ballarat mayor Cr Daniel Moloney said projects like these provide spaces for more people of all ages and abilities to get active, involved in sport, and enjoying a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n
