EVEN though they might not know it, everyone has a singing voice, and Stella Savy, renowned vocalist and instrumentalist, is working with over 30 members of the Creswick and district community to prove just that.<\/p>\n
The aim is to get the group, know as the Creswick Chorus, up to performance level in just five short weeks and ready for the inaugural CresFest on 1 to 3 April.<\/p>\n
Savy\u2019s dynamic teaching skills and sense of humour have already enabled the group with a range of singing abilities to learn two new songs, each in a foreign language, at the first rehearsal.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so beautiful to hear this enthusiastic group of people singing once again in the community.,\u201d Savy said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, it would be wonderful if a few more Creswick men stepped forward. We\u2019re a friendly lot and just want to have fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
As well as singing a few songs on their own, the Creswick Chorus will be supporting The Sweet Mona\u2019s, Ballarat\u2019s longest running gospel and world music choir, also performing at CresFest.<\/p>\n
Convenor of CresFest, Judy Turner, said that it was a wonderful opportunity for people interested in music to come along and learn to sing from a great teacher.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur community is really fortunate that Stella Savy is able to share her passion for music, especially funk, reggae, soul and ska,\u201d Turner said.<\/p>\n
