THE Department of Transport has issued alerts for two upcoming projects that will impact Ballarat motorists.<\/p>\n
The first, set for Sunday, 20 March between 8.30am and 3pm will see the closure of the Ballarat-bound off ramp from the Western Highway onto Ballarat-Burrumbeet Road.<\/p>\n
The shutdown is due to road surface resealing works.<\/p>\n
During that time the Department has also advised that Clarkes Road will only be accessible via Warrenheip Road, Warrenheip.<\/p>\n
Detours will be in place via the next exit at Daylesford Road and speed limits will be reduced to 40kph while the works are ongoing.<\/p>\n
Then, from Monday, 21 to Wednesday, 23 March between 7am and 7pm, works at the intersection of Sturt and Drummond streets will see traffic flow in that area impacted.<\/p>\n
A statement from the Department said that lane closures will be in place, although \u201ctraffic flow [will be] maintained in all directions and a reduced speed limit [of] 40kph in place.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDrivers should allow up to 10 minutes extra for their journey during peak periods,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
The works in the area are due to the Sturt Street shared path project with construction expected to be complete by May this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
