A SENSOR operated drinking water fountain has been installed at Selkirk Stadium\u2019s new outdoor 3×3 basketball courts, in partnership between Central Highlands Water together, Basketball Ballarat and the City of Ballarat.<\/p>\n
Users of the freshly minted outdoor space have been asking for more accessible water conveniences, and CHW\u2019s managing director Paul O\u2019Donohue said the fountain will provide that and much more.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new fountain provides a great opportunity to remind everyone, especially the younger generation, of the importance of keeping healthy, staying hydrated and reducing single-use plastic waste,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hands-free sensor technology used on the fountain also reduces touch-points for increased hygiene and greater user safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
Basketball Ballarat CEO Neville Ivey said the fountain will be accessible to everyone at the venue, and will benefit the recent addition of the new courts.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of us at Basketball Ballarat are thrilled to see a new Choose Tap drinking fountain installed as part of the new three by three outdoor basketball courts at Selkirk Stadium,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese fountains allow all participants and spectators to access freshwater to refill their reusable drink bottles and stay hydrated across the venue, both inside and out.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ballarat Miners advocate making tap water your drink of choice and continue to promote the benefits of having a balanced and active lifestyle, across the local community.\u201d<\/p>\n
As backers of CHW\u2019s Choose Tap program, the venues also stocks the water utility\u2019s reusable stainless-steel drink bottles at the Selkirk Stadium store with all proceeds donated to local charity, WRISC Family Violence Support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
