FOOD Is Free Inc. and the Ballarat Tool Library are teaming up for the first time to deliver a garden tool maintenance workshop at Barkly Square this Saturday.<\/p>\n
The event will comprise everything from tool cleaning to proper use, and founder and director of Food is Free Lou Ridsdale said the event is a great partnership.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity to join forces and combine superpowers and do something for fun for everyone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s providing education for recycling and repairing which is what FIF are all about, and we\u2019ve both got a lot of cross-purposes so this\u2019ll definitely showcase that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event will run from 11.30am to 12.30pm, and will be coordinated by one of the Tool Library\u2019s volunteers, and attendees can participate in the group\u2019s monthly Repair Cafe session at 1pm.<\/p>\n
Capacity is limited to 12 people, and although there is a basic structure for the session, the Tool Library\u2019s workshops coordinator Jess Sculley said it will be steered very much by the participants.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll be led with the group that\u2019s there, so there\u2019ll be a chance for the direction to swift a little bit depending on what people want to learn,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve made it very broad, with the idea for future workshops between ourselves and FIF. Everyone seems to be getting very excited about this one so we hope that can be the case.\u201d<\/p>\n
