REV-heads will soon be able to zip around the bends of an upgraded Central Highlands Regional Karting Complex at Haddon.<\/p>\n
Member for Buninyong announced last week the Ballarat Kart Club will receive just over $230,000 from the State Government\u2019s community motorsport program for works at its just under 670-metre course.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith more and more Victorians returning to the track, we\u2019re giving clubs the support they need to rev up participation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBetter facilities and equipment help motorsport and motorcycling clubs provide a safer and welcoming community space.<\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage local clubs to take advantage of all the opportunities the community motorsport program offers.\u201d<\/p>\n
The State Government\u2019s program is part of a $7.4 million initiative to upgrade safety, train volunteers and boost participation in motorsport.<\/p>\n
Secretary at Ballarat Kart Club, Paul Feely, said the upgrade is timely as the group prepares to celebrate six decades of racing.<\/p>\n
\u201cBallarat Kart Club is extremely grateful to be a successful grant recipient, particularly at a time when the club is celebrating over 60 years of history,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a very exciting time for the club, and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the benefits for our members, competitors, and partners from across the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe club will be pulling out all stops to make the project a success, jump-starting the next 60 years of racing.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Ballarat Kart Club hosts monthly meets, as well as annual open races, the Begonia City Titles and the Mort Page Memorial.<\/p>\n
