AS Cafs marks twelve months since they opened the Thread Together Clothing Hub, they\u2019re also appealing to the community to financially support this service.<\/p>\n
Cafs CEO Wendy Sturgess said the organisation has a goal to raise $50,000 during their 2022 Cafs end of financial year campaign.<\/p>\n
These funds will help to add a mobile arm to the Clothing Hub, and ensure emergency clothing stock is available to clients at their offices across the Central Highlands.<\/p>\n
\u201cCafs has been supporting children and families as a proudly independent organisation for nearly 160 years, and in that time, we have expanded to deliver more than 44 innovative support programs specifically designed to meet the needs of people across our region,\u201d Ms Sturgess said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNew programs such as our Thread Together Clothing Hub, do not attract government funding, so to ensure that we can keep delivering services to vulnerable people, we need to undertake additional fundraising activity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ballarat\u2019s Thread Together Clothing Hub is on Grenville Street in the former Wozzles Wearhouse building.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a Cafs-seed-funded project, providing clothes from big-name brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, R.M. Williams, and Bendon to people in need of a clean and warm set of clothes and footwear.<\/p>\n
Social and welfare agencies refer clients to the Hub to receive a brand-new wardrobe, or any individual items, with styling and sizing assistance from the store\u2019s volunteers.<\/p>\n
Almost 1000 clients have received more than 7500 pieces of clothing and shoes within Thread Together\u2019s first year in Ballarat. Thirty agencies have referred people to the Hub.<\/p>\n
