A NEW scoreboard is on the way for Mount Clear Recreation Reserve.<\/p>\n
Member for Buninyong, Michaela Settle, visited the site last week alongside City of Ballarat mayor Cr Daniel Moloney to announce funding for a new electronic display.<\/p>\n
With $100,000 from the State Government, Ms Settle said the updated replacement will aid in expanding both Mount Clear Junior Football Club and the local cricket squad.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I really love about this club is it is a big growing juniors\u2019 club, so just seeing you all here, I know that it means a lot to you, the club,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cGetting that scoreboard\u2019s going to make a real difference so you don\u2019t have to keep an eye on running back and forth, it\u2019ll all happen electronically.\u201d<\/p>\n
The previous scoreboard has been unused for the past four years, with the clubs using a mobile unit to keep track of their games.<\/p>\n
Mount Clear JNFC presided Ashley Madigan said the scoreboard will complement the reserve\u2019s facilities in providing up-to-date equipment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe major thing is having a permanent solution, one that certainly presents much better than we\u2019ve got and functions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll certainly reduce some of our requirements on game day just with setup, pack-up, and ongoing running of the scoreboard.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is expected the new equipment will be ready to go by the end of the year treasurer of the Mount Clear Cricket Club, Aaron Burford, said it will get plenty of use beyond game day.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll give us opportunities as well to do other things like movie nights and things like that so it\u2019s going to be a great facility for the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
