{"id":85641,"date":"2022-06-30T10:42:11","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T23:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=85641"},"modified":"2022-06-30T10:42:11","modified_gmt":"2022-06-29T23:42:11","slug":"the-blues-are-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/living\/the-blues-are-back\/","title":{"rendered":"The blues are back!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival &#8211; 28 to 31 July<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AFTER two years of COVID cancellations, Echuca Moama\u2019s legendary Winter Blues Festival is back in 2022, bringing some of Australia\u2019s best blues and roots artists to town from 28 to 31 July.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrating its 22nd year, the Winter Blues Festival is a free event that takes place in the pubs, restaurants and cafes of Echuca\u2019s historic port precinct, with over 50 acts performing live across the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Event organiser Peter Williams said Echuca Moama turns into a mini New Orleans over the Festival weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Winter Blues Festival is one of the best weekends of the year in Echuca Moama, with the town coming alive with music, food and a cruisey vibe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe event is really unique. There are no tickets and visitors can wander between venues as the sultry sounds of the blues fills the air of the Echuca port precinct.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach venue showcases different acts and their distinctive brand of hospitality, serving up their best cuisine and local drops all weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_85643\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-85643\" style=\"width: 226px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-85643\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/06\/405624195-geoffachisonsouldiggers-portrait-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/06\/405624195-geoffachisonsouldiggers-portrait-226x300.jpg 226w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/06\/405624195-geoffachisonsouldiggers-portrait.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-85643\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Geoff Achison &amp; The Souldiggers will light up the stage.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Venues that will be hosting acts across the weekend include The American Hotel, Star Hotel and riverside marquee, 1895 The Royal, Caledonian Hotel, Shamrock Hotel, Echuca Club, Henry\u2019s Hotel, Radcliffe\u2019s Port 53, The Odd Captain and the PS Canberra paddle steamer.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights from the program include Broderick Smith, Sweet Felicia &amp; The Honeytones, 19 Twenty, Andrew Farrell the Piano Wizard, Bill Barber, Collard Greens &amp; Gravy, Geoff Achison &amp; The Souldiggers, Kelly Auty &amp; The Extraordinary Gentlemen, Nardia and Rambal &#8211; among others!<\/p>\n<p>The only ticketed event of the weekend is the famous Wrap Party, featuring a star-studded line up of artists, collaborating and jamming in true blues style.
