EARLIER this year, up-and-coming painter Tomas Lineker had his first-ever solo art exhibition in Soldiers Hill.<\/p>\n
In the months since, he\u2019s secured representation from Australia\u2019s Studio Gallery Group, but more excitingly, the chance to leave his fluorescent mark on New York City.<\/p>\n
After one of his bold, bright paintings was seen in a group show by a representative of NYC\u2019s On The Fringe gallery, Lineker has been invited to present a solo exhibition of 13 original artworks in their space in Tribeca, Lower Manhattan for one week in September.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe exhibition is titled Outside<\/em>, because I always feel like I\u2019m outside of the style of mainstream artists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve never had any formal or university art training, and I use fluorescent paint, so a lot of what I do is quite different.<\/p>\n \u201cI paint faces and feelings into my work which are feelings of being an outsider, or outside the norm. The show is going to be a weird, colourful mix of still life and abstract figures.\u201d<\/p>\n
