ANDREW McGrath has signed a two-year contract extension with Essendon.<\/p>\n
The deputy-vice captain\u2019s new deal means he will remain at the Bombers until at least the end of 2024.<\/p>\n
McGrath has played 106 games for Essendon since arriving as the number one pick in the 2016 National Draft.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve loved my six years at the club so far and I\u2019m extremely excited to continue my journey with the Essendon Football Club,\u201d McGrath said on the club\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy love for the playing group is immense and I\u2019m very grateful for the faith the club has had in me<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m determined to push myself and the entire playing group to realise our capabilities and achieve our ultimate goal.<\/p>\n

McGrath has played through the midfield and across half-back throughout 2022.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old took out the AFL Rising Star award in 2017.<\/p>\n
