A HORROR-THEMED nightwalk is coming to Ballarat for two sessions each on Friday, 5 August and Saturday, 6 August.<\/p>\n
Using headphones and a phone or tablet, attendees are tasked with navigating Night Walk Immersive\u2019s puzzle-laden mystery.<\/p>\n
The event will take place near the Botanical Gardens, and production manager Dan Tyrrell said it will be a full audio-sensory experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s psychological horror. It\u2019s about the experience and the story and immersing yourself in what we have to offer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s done with voice acting, sound effects, atmospheric music with a real focus on submerging people completely into the audio experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are of course physical props, and we want to keep people as immersed as possible throughout what\u2019s going on as they make their way through this almost curiosity killed the cat narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n
The self-guided tour will consist of two sessions at 8pm and 9pm, with the location disclosed upon buying a ticket.<\/p>\n
This will be Night Walk Immersive\u2019s Ballarat debut, with the outdoor experience launched during Halloween last year.<\/p>\n
Mr Tyrrell said the experience was tailored around social distancing restrictions, but has since grown in popularity.<\/p>\n
\u201cPreviously this was more a form of interactive theatre setup with actors and that direct contact with the audience, but of course that was thrown out the window,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was designed with COVID in mind, so that we could have an interactive event. People could socially distance because it was outside. They could go at their own pace.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s since taken off in this format, so we\u2019re thinking it will become a real mainstay for us with adapting narratives and new stories to keep people on their toes.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
