FORMER Loreto College students are invited to the school\u2019s Little Flower Church facility later this month to meet with current pupils and tour the building.<\/p>\n
The event, titled Past Pupils Morning Tea, will take place on the Monday, 29 August.<\/p>\n
Catering will be provided by current students including Kasey Pring who said she\u2019s looking forward to meeting the alumni.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll be good to hear how things were when they were around and to show them what\u2019s available now compared to what they had because it\u2019s very different,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re cooking things from our hospitality taster like scones, sausage rolls, finger foods with tea and coffee and biscuits.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following their morning tea, current students will host a presentation detailing Loreto College\u2019s VCAL applied learning program.<\/p>\n
Formerly the Saint Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, the building has been used as a practical teaching space for VCAL students since 2021.<\/p>\n
With features like a renovated kitchen and two classroom spaces, director of community partnerships Linda McDonald said the event will provide an opportunity to show off the upgrades.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany of our past pupils would have come here for mass on a Sunday so there\u2019s great eagerness in the community to find out how the space is being used now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a different classroom than what they\u2019d be used to, and it\u2019s a great opportunity to give them a greater understanding of the more practical teaching that goes on here.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s giving a bit more credibility to the VCAL pathway and we want to do that through the Past Pupils Association and broaden the community\u2019s understanding of VCAL as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
