A NEW mural is bringing some colour to Stockland Wendouree while serving as a celebration of the local community.<\/p>\n
The work, titled Wonderous Path, was created by artist Margie Balazic, who said she was influenced by the interweaving of life and community.<\/p>\n
\u201cGrowing up in Ballarat, and the many paths of discovery, inspired me. It\u2019s about our environment, our community, curiosity, and an adventurous imagination in life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe look at life as being small but in fact it\u2019s much larger than we can ever imagine, especially when our mind looks further.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope people explore life in a different way and with the greatest of interest. I want people to delight other\u2019s, one step at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Located near the centre management, the work is 20 meters long, nearly two meters high and took Balazic two weeks to paint.<\/p>\n
Depicting colourful plant life and vegetation, Balazic said Wonderous Path\u2019s key themes include the community\u2019s impact on the environment.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur environment has lots to explore but it\u2019s our community\u2019s compassion that makes Ballarat enchanting,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Balazic said she has fond memories of visiting Stockland Wendouree as a child, and feels \u201cvery proud and honoured\u201d to add some vibrancy to the space.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful that my life continues to take twists and turns. I don\u2019t know where it will lead but I do have great comfort knowing I will always discover something new with others,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope the mural entices the community\u2019s curiosity, creates conversation, and empowers the greatest of imagination among us.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
