IF your grassroots group or organisation is interested in applying for a City of Ballarat Community Impact Grant, you might like to drop into Barkly Square next week.<\/p>\n
Ballarat\u2019s four Neighbourhood Houses have partnered with the City to present a free grant-writing workshop on Tuesday, 30 August from 1pm to 2.30pm at the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, to help applicants put their best foot forward.<\/p>\n
Representatives of community groups who attend will hear from Lou Ridsdale from not-for-profit Food is Free, discover whether their organisation is eligible for a grant, what the grants are designed for, how to prepare a budget and project plan, how to seek letters of support, and can ask any further questions.<\/p>\n
Ballarat East Neighbourhood House community governance officer Kay Miller said Kate McCluskey from the City will also be present.<\/p>\n
\u201cThose who come along will be able to speak to someone who is actually administering the grants, which is a positive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a very practical workshop, so groups can go away with a clear idea of what they want to apply for and what they need to do to get that application in.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere will be lots of hints and tips to write a winning grant full of passion, and advice from community members who have been successful previously.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommunity groups always have a wish list, whether that\u2019s getting a project off the ground or buying equipment, and this is an opportunity to get something from the wish list.\u201d<\/p>\n
BENH will also lead an online Zoom workshop in the evening from 7pm to 8.30pm for those who cannot attend during the afternoon.<\/p>\n
