LAKE Wendouree Football Netball Club\u2019s Rosie Todd has added another accolade to her trophy cabinet.<\/p>\n
The A Grade netball co-captain is also on the roster with Geelong Netball Club in the Victorian State League, and she\u2019s won that club\u2019s best and fairest for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n
Having received the 2021 award via an online count, she said this year\u2019s in-person ceremony allowed her to acknowledge her achievements.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast time it didn\u2019t really feel like much, but this time just being able to give all my thanks to everyone really made it something special,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt made me realise how much the Geelong club has done for me. They always push me to my limits on the court and they\u2019re always challenging me.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey made the celebration such a big thing as well. To finally be rewarded after such a long season, all the hard work and training, it was great look back on it and realise how well I\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n
Todd started her junior career at about age 10 at Brown Hill Netball Club before moving to the Ballarat Netball Leauge\u2019s Lakers in 2013, which has been her local team ever since.<\/p>\n
Last year she followed her sister to the Geelong Cougars to play VNL games starting in under 19s before moving to A Grade this year.<\/p>\n
Todd also became co-captain of the Lake Wendouree A Grade squad this season, and said she\u2019s always been inspired by the community aspect of netball.<\/p>\n
\u201cLakers is like a second family to me, and then being with Geelong and being taken under their wing and developing me as such a young player has created another community for me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI pushed myself more this past season to excel and go to the limits, and because I was older, I played my role as a leader in the team so really had to work hard and perform at training.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to trialling for the state team and my ultimate goal is playing for the Australian Diamonds which will obviously take a lot of work and dedication and I\u2019m happy to put that in.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
