THE Ballarat Justice Service Centre has moved to a new home on Camp Street.<\/p>\n
Formerly around the corner on Mair Street, the centre has relocated to accommodate its growing team of staff and to keep offering access to justice services for more members of the community.<\/p>\n
Worth $2.8 million, the centre was funded by the State, and has staff from Consumer Affairs Victoria, Births, Deaths and Marriages, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice, Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria, and the Sherriff\u2019s Office on site.<\/p>\n
Minister for Corrections, Youth Justice and Victim Support, Sonya Kilkenny, said the facility brings essential services together in a central location.<\/p>\n
\u201cJustice service centres… ensure Victorians can access the information and supports they need with ease,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re investing in community safety and this upgraded facility is key to delivering critical justice services.\u201d<\/p>\n
The centre was officially opened by Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison, last week, and she said the move is a result of teamwork and a strong common goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to thank the partnerships between the local teams and service providers who work hard to help our community safe every day,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe upgrade and relocation of the Ballarat Justice Service Centre will mean more people can access the information and services they need.\u201d<\/p>\n
Member for Buninyong, Michaela Settle, said the State Government has put a focus on keeping communities safe.<\/p>\n
