LIBERAL candidate for the seat of Wendouree Samantha McIntosh officially launched her State Election campaign on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The City of Ballarat councillor, and former nurse, who has also worked in pathology and the disability sector, presented to supporters at the Ballarat Yacht Club.<\/p>\n
Ms McIntosh has lived in Ballarat for more than 30 years and said the area has been \u201cforgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n
If elected, she said she will aim to rebuild the health system, lower the cost of living, and boost public housing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have been dismayed to see increases in the cost of living which always seems to hit lower income families the most,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe State Government has been extremely slow in providing adequate public housing for the Ballarat community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe [Labor] commitment to help Ballarat residents with an upgrade at the Base Hospital has been a complete flop.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am thrilled to support the announcement made by the Leader of the Opposition on a Liberal National Government\u2019s pledge of 25 per cent infrastructure guarantee for our regions.\u201d<\/p>\n
State Shadow Minister for Health Georgie Crozier attended the launch in support of Ms McIntosh and emphasised their party\u2019s focus on health.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will rebuild the hospitals across the state,\u201d she said. \u201cWe need to bring this state back, and Sam in the parliament representing this community will do just that.<\/p>\n
