ELECTRONIC musicians will soon have a regular meeting space to call their own.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, 9 October, members of the Ballarat Synth Enthusiasts will hold their first monthly meet-and-greet session at Freight Bar.<\/p>\n
Founder, Michael Groth, said the meet up will provide a regular place and time for the region\u2019s electronically minded performers to socialise.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just a meetup where people can bring some of their gear, have a bit of a play with it and have a chat about it with like-minded people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople are always keen to meet up but now that we\u2019ve got so many more people coming out of COVID it\u2019s made the idea of this that much more significant.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following the inaugural session, the meet ups are set to take place on the second Sunday of every month.<\/p>\n
Guest speakers are set to be enlisted for subsequent gatherings with the last half-hour dedicated solely to music performance.<\/p>\n
Groth said he\u2019s hoping for at least 20 members from the group to attend, which currently has more than 100 members on Facebook.<\/p>\n
He said the meetups will take the group\u2019s dealings off the computer screen and into a face-to-face setting.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully these meet ups will really create a space where we can meet in-person to chuck on gigs and put on events, talk about our music,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s to get it off Facebook, off online and make it a bit more personable. It\u2019s something we\u2019ve sort of always wanted to do since the start.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
