BALLARAT\u2019S annual agricultural show is back and kicking off today, after a two-year break.<\/p>\n
The Ballarat Times News Group 2022 Ballarat Show will run until Sunday, 13 November at the Ballarat Showgrounds.<\/p>\n
With regular fixtures and new additions on offer, event organiser Jackie Kalogerakis said this year\u2019s show will be an amazing comeback for everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very exciting to be able to see the show return. Sadly, lots of other agricultural shows are being cancelled so it\u2019s a privilege for us to be able to go ahead,\u201d she said<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got our headline acts, The Rooftop Express and Bethany Fisher. We\u2019ve got the woodchop competition and whip crackers returning, which are always an extremely exciting part of the show.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone\u2019s put in so much time and hard work to get this accomplished so it\u2019s definitely an achievement that we can\u2019t wait for people to see.\u201d<\/p>\n
Animal competitions are returning with the region\u2019s best cattle, goats, poultry, sheep and pigs on display, and the annual fireworks display is set to dazzle residents across the city on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The family pavilion has been expanded with offerings like facepainting, Bubble Muffin cooking, and animal petting from Fun Farm 2 U.<\/p>\n
The crafts pavilion will highlight local creativity with homemade crafts and artwork on display as part of the show\u2019s competitions.<\/p>\n
Performing artists will take to the Regent Stage throughout the weekend including children\u2019s entertainer Bethany Fisher, as well as performers from Ballarat Grammar and The Ballarat Memorial Concert Band.<\/p>\n
Throughout the whole event, for first time since its establishment in 1887, children aged fifteen and under will enter free.<\/p>\n
Ms Kalogerakis said the show is about highlighting Ballarat\u2019s country feel.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt really brings out the city\u2019s agricultural side and enables people to experience everything Ballarat has to offer when it comes to farming,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt just really brings that country feeling back to life with the entertainment side to it that lets families and children have a great day or weekend.\u201d Tickets are $20 with concession at $15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
