The full-time painter of eight years\u2019 signature botanical style, popular amongst her more-than 75,000 Instagram followers, also features prominently.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really wanted to create a cohesive concept,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s two major stories going on here; botanicals and autumnal gardens gone to seed, and autumnal landscapes, but the palette carries right through.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m known for really bright botanicals and gardens, so this is a deliberate step away.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese autumn colours are the palette that I love, and this exhibition of all new works has been an opportunity to paint what I want to paint.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe landscape work is very new, and the response has been really strong, which is encouraging.\u201d<\/p>\n Many of Nethercote\u2019s paintings capture the day\u2019s golden hour and she said Ballarat\u2019s one of the best places to see and capture that light at sunset.<\/p>\n \u201cAutumn is such a magical time of year in this town because we are cool climate and have the trees changing colour with the seasons,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cParticularly the golden evening light at that late-summer, early-autumn time of year, I love. I just sit out on the veranda in my garden, and they\u2019re the moments that I want to bottle.<\/p>\n \u201cThe calm, the peace, the serenity is what I seek to capture.\u201d<\/p>\n On weekends, Nethercote has been sitting in the Old Butchers Shop, her exhibition\u2019s venue, and the Soldiers Hill local said she has enjoyed meeting neighbours she didn\u2019t know before.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/11\/IMG_5765-300x200.jpg\")
