IF you\u2019ve been spring cleaning and need to sell clothes you no longer wear, or are keen to pick up a bargain and add something new to your wardrobe, Ballarat Wholefoods Collective has got you covered.<\/p>\n
The not-for-profit is hosting an op shop clothing sale at Barkly Square next Saturday, 26 November from 10am to 1pm.<\/p>\n
Collective member Alison Barby said anyone is welcome to simply come along to purchase a pre-loved outfit, or for a $5 donation to the organisation, they can host their own stall.<\/p>\n
\u201cMuch like the collective, the aim of the op shop day is to reduce, reuse, recycle, and support local,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA wide variety of people come along, like ladies with vintage clothing. This time we have a man bringing a lot of men\u2019s vintage clothing as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019s not just vintage stuff, with clothing for children, adults, and teenagers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d like to see more young people bringing their clothes along, and encourage them to get their friends involved in reducing and reusing, rather than sending things to landfill.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are good bargains to be had, and good quality labels to take home.\u201d<\/p>\n
All money made by stallholders will stay with them, not the collective.<\/p>\n
The Y Ballarat and the Centre for Multicultural Youth will be sharing a market stall, and all their proceeds are set to go towards the Bags of Joy program, that provides essentials and gifts to young people in need this Christmas.<\/p>\n
\u201cA Pot of Courage Cafe is going to be open for us too, so come and have a cuppa, something to eat, and a shop,\u201d Ms Barby said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
