THE Ballarat Miners basketball club have announced the extension of their partnership with high performance athletics gym, RADcentre.<\/p>\n
The award-winning fitness centre has been the Miners\u2019 performance manger since 2019 and provided strength and conditioning services.<\/p>\n
The partnership has been extended for two years and will now include physiotherapy services for players from the NBL1 South men\u2019s and women\u2019s miners and other Basketball Ballarat listed teams.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe addition of the RAD physiotherapy provides our athletes with one consistent message when dealing with body niggles and injury which is easily communicated to our coaching staff for the overall benefit of our athletes,\u201d said Melissa Thomas, Basketball Ballarat\u2019s partnerships manager.<\/p>\n
Established in a garage, the RADcentre has gone on to be one of the region\u2019s elite sports and fitness facilities and managing director Chris Radford welcomed the announcement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pleased to continue our partnership with the Ballarat Miners and the wider basketball community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach year we have seen continual growth in players who have consistently worked with the strength and conditioning program.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe addition of now being the Miners physiotherapist allows our team of practitioners and coaches to work in close communication to ensure players are given the best type of care.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to the services provided to the Miners, RADcentre also offers discounted gym memberships to youth league team members and junior Ballarat athletes.<\/p>\n
They also provide online resources on sports injuries and performance improvement.<\/p>\n
Ms Thomas said the partnership between Basketball Ballarat and the centre had been positive so far.<\/p>\n
