WITH the aim of reconnecting with the community, a once annual event is returning this weekend following a four-year absence.<\/p>\n
This Saturday, members of the Brown Hill Uniting Church\u2019s council are bringing back their fair, which was last held in 2019.<\/p>\n
The church\u2019s council member and event co-organiser Louise Wright said that as well as stalls, the event will feature a car boot sale and their regular op shop.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur church fair raising money so we can continue to run our programs for the community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re inviting people to join in a car boot sale and our op shop will run on the day which is normally open on Thursdays and Friday mornings every week.\u201d<\/p>\n
The church members regular programs include a men\u2019s breakfasts and afterschool kid\u2019s club.<\/p>\n
As part of the fair there\u2019ll be a breakfast barbecue, Devonshire tea, and stalls for cakes, plants and produce.<\/p>\n
Ms Wright said the event regularly raises about $3000 and it\u2019s been bringing the community together for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt brings a sense of community to Brown Hill,\u201d she said. \u201cIt brings people out and it\u2019s important for us to connect with the people in the area and have them connecting with each other.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s terrific for us to be able to put the fair on again and to be involved with the community in this way once more.\u201d<\/p>\n
Car boot site bookings are $15 and can be made by calling church council member Barbara Glass on 0409 812 470 before 6pm tomorrow night.<\/p>\n
Attendees are urged to bring cash only to the event.<\/p>\n
The fair and op shop will run from 9am to 12pm at the Brown Hill Uniting Church.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
