A POPULAR wine bar has celebrated ten years of service in the Ballarat community.<\/p>\n
Mitchell Harris Wines on Doveton Street opened in 2013 in the unique location of a former motor workshop.<\/p>\n
“We didn\u2019t know what to expect when we opened the doors,\u201d said founder and winemaker John Harris.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never worked in a bar before, but thankfully we assembled a brilliant team of experienced hospitality pros to help guide us along.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wanted to provide a relaxed environment but really high level of customer service where we could help guests learn more about and have fun with wine, and where we could champion the great local wine producers of Western Victoria and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n
The venue is a regular host of weddings, corporate events and monthly educational sessions about food and wine.<\/p>\n
Over the journey Mitchell Harris has celebrated with multiple Golden Plate awards, a Commerce Ballarat business award and the Consumers Choice award for best wine list.<\/p>\n
Now Mr Harris is looking towards the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main focus will always be on the customer experience and championing the great wines of the region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will evolve and refine the food and wine menus and will build the Curious Wine Club subscription model and our online presence, whilst continuing to provide our guests with memorable wine experiences.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the best front and back of house teams in town, and the ongoing support of a tremendous band of new and loyal customers, we are very excited to see what we can achieve in the next ten years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mitchell Harris Wines will be celebrating this milestone with a harvest lunch on Sunday, 30 April.<\/p>\n
