CRESWICK Neighbourhood Centre recently hosted a children\u2019s art exhibition, the results of a creative five-week HeapsART program run by talented local artist and teacher Anna Schlooz.<\/p>\n
Schlooz is passionate about engaging young people in art and environmental sustainability, and the program draws upon varied art disciplines to create, respond and explore arts culture further.<\/p>\n
The aim of HeapsART is to give young participants active learning time to practice skills and techniques, including exploring the elements of art that they learn at school.<\/p>\n
HeapsART provides a studio space for kids to continue to explore what they love, including their own interests to create 2D and 3D artworks to exhibit at the end of the program.<\/p>\n
Art making is inspired by artists from the past and present that have used a myriad of media and techniques clearly worth drawing upon.<\/p>\n
The exhibition was open to parents and members of the community and Pavilion Arts president Jennifer Powell commended the young artists on their creativity and said that they were Creswick\u2019s creatives of tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The next HeapsArt starts on Monday 17 July for children nine years and older who want to explore their artistic and creative talents.<\/p>\n
