HOME energy efficiency is the topic of a series of workshops beginning later this month.<\/p>\n
The sessions, held at the Ballarat Tool Library in Barkly Square and organised by BREAZE, are designed to help residents with the rising cost of energy, especially during winter.<\/p>\n
Led by accredited Victorian Energy Scorecard Assessors, Dale Boucher and Tim Drylie, the sessions will run from 10am until 11.30am on Mondays.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know many Ballarat locals are struggling this winter, due to rising energy prices and cost of living increases,\u201d said Mart Debreet, president of BREAZE.<\/p>\n
\u201cRetro fitting old houses, of the kind many of us have, can be tricky and complicated. Professional advice on energy efficiency can make a huge difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop will cover topics like cheap and easy ways to improve thermal efficiency, investments that can be made for any budget, how to create an action plan, and government rebates and subsides.<\/p>\n
There will also be information on how to use thermal imaging cameras to detect draughts and the devices will be available for loan from the Ballarat Tool Library.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur members tell us that having access to home energy efficiency advice and tools is helping them save on energy costs at a time when energy bills are increasing significantly,\u201d said Greg Jakob from the Ballarat Tool Library.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Tool Library is very pleased to be able to offer home energy efficiency workshops to the broader community and help them like we are helping our members.\u201d<\/p>\n
The first six workshops will be capped at six participants and attendees are asked to bring along recent energy bills.<\/p>\n
The final two sessions will be bigger and allow participants of the first workshops to share what they\u2019ve learned and ask further questions.<\/p>\n
