{"id":95086,"date":"2023-08-01T04:58:21","date_gmt":"2023-07-31T18:58:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=95086"},"modified":"2023-07-25T09:40:39","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T23:40:39","slug":"fantastical-novel-gets-castle-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/news\/fantastical-novel-gets-castle-launch\/","title":{"rendered":"Fantastical novel gets castle launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL author Trudy Adams is celebrating the launch of her new fantasy novel <em>The Crowned Guardians<\/em> at Kryal Castle.<\/p>\n<p>The book is the third in <em>The Armoured Butterfly<\/em> series and tells the story of a young female warrior fighting back against an evil cult that\u2019s trying to take over her kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s sort of fantastical and made up in this other world,\u201d said Adams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just about the battle, it\u2019s about her fears, relationships that are under pressure and to really get to know who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adams is an award-winning author with a background in youth work and has a passion for writing about issues faced by teenagers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started writing from a very young age and published my first book at 22 and I\u2019ve been sort of writing ever since,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy first four books were Australian young adult fiction about issues that young people face, then I decided to move into this story that\u2019s more adventure but still looking into the issues people face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adams said it\u2019s important to celebrate talented Australian writers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of talent that\u2019s probably not quite tapped into yet,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can be successful in Australia and we need to celebrate the talent we have here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The launch will be held on Saturday 12 August from 2pm at Kryal Castle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKryal Castle is on theme with the book as it\u2019s a medieval kind of adventure series with swords and kings and queens,\u201d said Adams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt seemed like a really fun way to have a book launch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To register for the event visit <strong>trudyadams.com.au.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL author Trudy Adams is celebrating the launch of her new fantasy novel The Crowned Guardians at Kryal Castle.
