PEOPLE who identify as part of the LGBTIQA+ community are being invited to take part in free styling workshops at the Cafs Thread Together Clothing Hub.<\/p>\n
The sessions run by professional stylist Claire Jensen and designed with an aim of providing a safe, inclusive space where people can experiment and find their unique sense of style.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor many of us, we get dressed every day based on what we know about fashion and what we\u2019ve been conditioned to believe style to be,\u201d Ms Jensen said. \u201cBut actually, it\u2019s so much more.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we can tap into how we want to be perceived and how this is reflected in our wardrobe, the impact is transformational.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen a client is also going through a period of transition, the impact is tenfold because suddenly the person presented to the outside world matches who we\u2019ve always been on the inside.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Jensen is experienced in working with clients from the LGBTIQA+ community and is set to offer tailored one-on-one guidance at the Cafs Thread Together Clothing Hub.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis program reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community that embraces and celebrates diversity,\u201d Cafs CEO Wendy Sturgess said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that fashion is a powerful form of self-expression, and we want to provide a platform for LGBTIQA+ people to explore and showcase their style.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Thread Together styling workshops have been funded through an Empowering Communities Fund grant from the City of Ballarat and Department of Justice and Community Safety.<\/p>\n
