ONE of the game\u2019s longest-serving and most respected administrators isn\u2019t a believer in AFL assistance packages to clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think so,\u201d Cook replied when asked whether it should be on clubs to fix their own issues.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never been in that position before, so for me, it\u2019s theoretical. But I think you determine your own future and sometimes it takes five, six or seven years to get there.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Geelong back in \u201999 it took us a while to get moving [before we improved].\u201d<\/p>\n
