A THREE-kilometre path linking Wendouree Station to Waringa Drive in Mitchell Park is almost complete.<\/p>\n
The path has been built with the aim of give pedestrians bike riders a safer way to walk and cycle in the area, and provide a link towards Miners Rest.<\/p>\n
Once completed, it will add to current shared paths in the City of Ballarat, including along the Yarrowee River and Canadian Creek along with trails through the CBD and Victoria Park.<\/p>\n
The network is part of the Ballarat Cycle Action Plan 2017 to 2025 that\u2019s aiming to encourage people to enjoy taking a ride on a bike.<\/p>\n
The works have cost $915,000 and were funded by the State Government.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Des Hudson said it\u2019s great to see the cycling and waking infrastructure developing across Ballarat.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe shared pedestrian and cycling path aims to improve safety for the community in Ballarat, by giving them more safe, convenient and low cost options about how to travel,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis new safe, separated path means it is suitable for and safe for both inexperienced riders and school children as well as confident commuters.<\/p>\n
