LORETO College Ballarat has been nominated Australian Education Excellence Award for best strategic plan.<\/p>\n
The award is assessed on a range of factors including the plan\u2019s engagement with the community, strategic development. and its ability to meet the school\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n
The plan draws on the history of Loreto, including the work of founder, Mother Gonzaga Barry.<\/p>\n
\u201cMother Gonzaga Barry established Loreto College to become a pillar of education in Ballarat with her holistic and contemporary approach to educating young people, which is not only reflected in our school but across the entire Loreto network of schools,\u201d said principal Michelle Brodrick.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer vision has been central to the strategic direction of Loreto College to meet the strong growth in the Ballarat region and the need for schools to adopt more sustainable practices,\u201d<\/p>\n
The five priority areas in the plan include faith and identity, learning and innovation, thriving and wellbeing, community and engagement, and stewardship of resources.<\/p>\n
Deputy-principal Christine Shaw said the school is currently working on several projects to enhance these areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a wonderful opportunity to build on and deliver innovative, sustainable, and future focused learning experiences,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
