THE dumped trollies on Grevillea Road have been collected by Coles more than a month after they were spotted by residents.<\/p>\n
The runaway shopping carts were collected last week, however, more trolleys have already begun to appear.<\/p>\n
On a drive by conducted last Thursday, three days after the collection, two Coles trolleys were spotted meters from the initial dumping site.<\/p>\n
A Coles spokesperson said the company is working to collect dumped trolleys around the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cColes provides trolleys to its customers for their convenience when supermarket shopping and spend a significant amount on maintaining them each year, some of which is the cost of collecting trolleys that have been removed from our premises,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAbandoned trolleys are a nuisance to local communities, and we are actively working to curb the issue of dumped trolleys, including regular collections of abandoned trolleys with our vehicles on the road daily as well as installing trolley wheel lock systems where suitable.\u201d<\/p>\n
The area on Grevillia Road, which is near Stockland Wendouree, has proved a hotspot for trolley dumping with 12 found in this area last month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
