TOTTENHAM manager Ange Postecoglou made history last weekend, becoming the first Australian to register a win in the English Premier League.<\/p>\n
After managing a draw in his debut, Postecoglou went one better on his second try, taking down English giants Manchester United 2-0.<\/p>\n
Spurs took the lead just moments after the resumption of play for the second half, as Pape Matar Sarr repaid the manager with the opening goal of the game.<\/p>\n
After surviving a handful of dangerous attacks from the visitors, Spurs sealed the result in the 83rd-minute courtesy of an own goal from United defender Lisandro Martinez.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the media after his history-making win, a grateful Postecoglou credited the home fans for spurring on the win and reflected on the special moment he saw the first goal go in.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou want to feel that moment because I have always said that to me I love what football does to people, particularly in those moments,\u201d Postecoglou said.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou kind of take a moment to think about the 60,000 here or the ones who were watching at home, they\u2019re going to be smiling for the rest of the week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love that it does that, the game, for me that moment is just about appreciating I am pretty blessed to be doing what I am doing and be in the middle of a stadium leading a fantastic football club.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe atmosphere was incredible, our supporters were outstanding today the energy they created in the stadium right from the first whistle was just brilliant to be honest I thought it helped us.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the first half, I thought we just looked a bit nervous and edgy for sort of half an hour or so and were probably fortunate to still be in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tottenham will look to continue its unbeaten run this season in a clash against Bournemouth on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
