THE world\u2019s only show which mixes dog training and comedy will be on in Ballarat this October.<\/p>\n
Mad Dogs and an Englishman<\/em>, performed by world renowned dog listener Tony Knight, combines laughing and learning how to listen to pets.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s an hour of having a laugh and getting in the mind of our four-legged-friends in terms of what they think about us and what they think,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople go home realising that their dogs have been trying to communicate all this time and they just didn\u2019t know what they were trying to say.\u201d<\/p>\n Knight said the show will have something for everyone, whether or not attendees have a dog.<\/p>\n \u201cI play games with people so they understand how dogs think and basically learning is a fun experience,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last show I did was in London and a guy came up to me at the end and went \u2018that was brilliant, I don\u2019t have a dog and I was brought along, and I really enjoyed the show.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The idea for combing dog training and comedy came from Knight\u2019s desire to engage the audience.<\/p>\n \u201cWhenever I\u2019ve been invited to do talks, I\u2019ve tried to make them entertaining as when we enjoy the process we learn better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all know the difference between bad teachers and good teachers, and it probably effected how you enjoyed the subject.<\/p>\n \u201cA good teacher can change your life.\u201d<\/p>\n Knight said he hopes people can learn to understand dogs for who they are.<\/p>\n \u201cI would love that when people leave the start to look at their dogs in a completely different way and respect them for who they are because dogs are dogs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we forget that dogs are dogs and ignore their nature they can turn around and bite us.\u201d<\/p>\n
