BURRUMBEET Cricket Club members are currently searching for new players to join the club\u2019s two male squads.<\/p>\n
The club has two teams in the second XI division one and the fourth XI division one in Ballarat Cricket Association competitions.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone 16 and over and male, we have no female sides at the moment, is welcome to join and no experience is required,\u201d said club president Charlie Martin.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re just a small country club that have two grades in the second and fourth division and we\u2019re a very tight knit club.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re located at the Burrumbeet racetrack so only about 15 minutes out of town.\u201d<\/p>\n
Training is currently on and Wednesday nights in Delacombe but will soon move back to Burrumbeat following the completion of the new cricket nets at the club\u2019s home ground.<\/p>\n
\u201cSaturday are our games and our trainings are Tuesday and Thursday once our nets are done,\u201d said Martin.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve had the same nets for nearly 40 years and they\u2019re finally being redone so it means better training facilities and better access for the younger generation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Martin said the smaller feel of a country club means everyone feels welcome and it\u2019s a great way to develop friendships.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the place to be and a lot of fun,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
