ENTRIES are open to highlight the achievements of people in the region by nominating them for the 2024 City of Ballarat Community Awards.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Des Hudson said the awards are about shining a light on the City\u2019s unsung heroes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are many great people in our community doing great things who deserve their day in the sun,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey often don\u2019t seek or want attention but it\u2019s important that our community recognises their contributions because they make Ballarat such a special place to live, work and invest.<\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage you to nominate your friend, neighbour or colleague that is an unsung hero as part of the City of Ballarat Community Awards.\u201d<\/p>\n
The awards\u2019 three categories are the Young Citizen of the Year, which aims to highlight the achievements of someone under 25 years old, the Community Event of the Year, spotlighting a successful happening, and the Citizen of the Year Award.<\/p>\n
Nominations will be open until Monday 20 November and can be submitted at the municipality\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
