{"id":98721,"date":"2023-12-22T04:59:17","date_gmt":"2023-12-21T17:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=98721"},"modified":"2023-12-20T10:21:07","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T23:21:07","slug":"santa-claus-is-coming-to-the-bridge-mall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/news\/santa-claus-is-coming-to-the-bridge-mall\/","title":{"rendered":"Santa Claus is coming to the Bridge Mall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FESTIVE spirits are running high at the Bridge Mall with regular visits from Santa and Bec the Elf.<\/p>\n<p>Photo opportunities are being held daily next to Wen &amp; Ware with the aim of spreading some Christmas joy and family fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTraditionally every year Santa arrives at the mall, in the past we\u2019ve always had a bit of a Christmas festival but because of construction we haven\u2019t been able to do what we normally do,\u201d said Shane Donnithorne, manager of Bridge Mall Business Association.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve set Santa up in an empty shop this year alongside Wen &amp; Ware and we\u2019ve called that Santa\u2019s workshop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of the jolly fat man\u2019s visit, there will be plenty of opportunities in the mall for children to interact with Santa, Mrs Claus, and their helpers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren can come and visit Santa, drop letters off and have a quick chat,\u201d said Mr Donnithorne.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSanta also moves around the mall, in and out of shops throughout the week to spread some Christmas cheer.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_98723\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-98723\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-98723\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2023\/12\/20231209-Santa-8451-web-600x380.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-98723\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Santa, Mrs Clause and their helpers can be found in the mall until Christmas Eve.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Despite the construction currently occurring, Mr Donnithorne still urged Christmas shoppers to take a look at what\u2019s on offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bridge Mall offers plenty of unique retailers with good, old-fashioned customer service,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an open-air shopping strip and there is still plenty of room for everyone to walk around.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a really good mix of independent retailers as well as a few national retailers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Donnithorne is confident that once the construction is completed, the Bridge Mall will be even better than before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is challenging, we can\u2019t lie and say everything is rosy this Christmas,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are all positive that once the project is finished it will be a really good space and it will connect us to Sturt Street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just have to be patient, get the work done and it should be all good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Santa\u2019s last appearance in the Bridge Mall will be on Christmas Eve and to find out more information visit <strong>shopthebridge.com.au<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FESTIVE spirits are running high at the Bridge Mall with regular visits from Santa and Bec the Elf.
